^{While shooting at this historical site my mother talked about the good old days and spoke of her mother, who was born in St. Deroin.}

^{After a great day of reminiscing we headed home to download the photos. Looking through the photos, my mother and I discovered strange faces in the framed portrait of George Washington. One face is especially prominent, that of a male figure wearing a black hooded cape and sporting a huge handle bar mustache typical of the early 1800's. Wanting to discover who this could be, I googled St. Deroin and found a (French/Indian) man by the name of Joseph Deroin who founded the town. His eyes look similar to the eyes of the man looking at us through this reflection in time. Could this be Joseph Deroin watching over his little village?} - Genoa
